ART Excel programme for kids next week

MUSCAT — The Art of Living (AOL) will be organising its acclaimed ART Excel Programme, an exclusive all-round training in excellence to children between the age of 8 and 14 in Muscat. The six-day course will be held from July 4 to July 9. Timings are 9.30 am to 12.30 pm. Designed by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, founder of the Art of Living Foundation, the programme offers practical tools that enable children to effectively handle stress and negative emotions such as fear, anger and frustration at a younger age.

Aimed at all-round training in excellence, it brings about perceptible changes in the personality of participants. Using special breathing techniques, participants learn to attain peace of mind, which leads to an improved memory and helps them concentrate. “Through simple play-way techniques and awareness games, yoga and breathing techniques, children develop their social and leadership skills and learn problem solving strategies,” said Kamal Khimji (pictured), resident ART Excel, YES (Youth Empowerment Seminar), Part 1 and Sahaj Samadhi teacher from The Art of Living Foundation.

“Awareness discussions on food, society and other issues help them break out of their limited world and see a brighter world around them,” she added. The course also includes several processes to inculcate human values such as co-operation, sharing, service to others, respect for self and others and compassion in children.  The programme will be held at MQ Way No 1735, House No 2696.
