His Majesty leaves UAE; arrives in Egypt

SHARM AL SHAIKH — His Majesty Sultan Qaboos arrived here yesterday on a visit to Egypt. Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak led the welcome party to greet His Majesty the Sultan on arrival at Sharm al Shaikh Airport. Egypt’s Prime Minister Dr Ahmed Nazif and senior Egyptian officials as well as members of the Sultanate’s Embassy in Egypt were also at the Airport to greet His Majesty.

His Majesty the Sultan is accompanied by Sayyid Ali bin Hamoud bin Ali al Busaidy, Minister of the Diwan of the Royal Court; Gen Ali bin Majid al Maamari, Minister of Royal Office; Maj Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Namani, Secretary-General of the Royal Court Affairs, Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs; Ahmed bin Abdulnabi Macki, Minister of National Economy and Deputy Chairman of the Financial Affairs and Energy Resources Council; Dr Omar bin Abdulmonim al Zawawi, His Majesty the Sultan’s Special Adviser for External Liaison; Dr Ali bin Mohammed bin Moosa, Minister of Health; Maqbool bin Ali Sultan, Minister of Commerce and Industry; Dr Khamis bin Mubarak al Alawi, Minister of Transport and Communications and Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah al Hinai, Oman’s Ambassador to Egypt and its permanent representative at the Arab League.


Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahayan, President of
the UAE, led the farewell party for His Majesty upon
departure from Abu Dhabi Emiri Airport.

Earlier yesterday, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos left Abu Dhabi for Egypt at the end of a private visit to the United Arab Emirates. Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahayan, President of the UAE, led the farewell party for His Majesty upon departure from Abu Dhabi Emiri Airport. Also to bid His Majesty farewell were Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahayan, Heir Apparent of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and the Sultanate’s Ambassador in Abu Dhabi, as well as senior UAE officials. — ONA
