RAO music band shines in Scotland

MUSCAT — The music band of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO) participated in the International Bagpipes Competition 2008 that concluded yesterday in Scotland, United Kingdom (UK). RAO music band won top ranks during the competition that started on August 5 and witnessed a fair competition.

Members of RAO music band have staged a number of Muscat Pieces that reflect their good preparation and training for the competition at the international level, winning top ranks to raise the Sultanate’s flag high in such international music competitions. RAO music band came first at the infantry competition at City of North.

It also came second at performance competition. In Perth city, it came first at the infantry and third in performance. At Crieff city, it came first in the infantry competition and second at stake competition. In Melrose, it came first at the music performance and second at stake competition. In Kilmarnock, it came first at music performance and second at stake competition.  — ONA
