SALALAH — The Omani Writers Association organised a cultural event here yesterday. The event was part of the Palestinian Cultural Days hosted by the Ministry of Heritage and Culture in celebration of designating Jerusalem as the Arab cultural capital for 2009. The programme included poetry recitals and papers on Jerusalem and Al Aqsa Mosque. — ONA

Majlis Ash’shura panel discusses education issues

MUSCAT — The Education and Culture Committee of Majlis Ash’shura, which met under the chairmanship of Amir bin Said
al Musharafi, head of the committee, discussed educational issues in the Sultanate and provided comments and viewpoints
on them by appropriate proposals and solutions raised by the committee.
