Oman to take part in Rabat environment

MUSCAT — The Sultanate will
take part in the meeting of environment ministers of Islamic nations due to
begin in Rabat today. The Sultanate’s delegation will be led by Sayyid
Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidy, Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs.
The conference will discuss the general framework of sustainable development
in Islamic nations, a project to develop renewable energy and a report on

MUSCAT — A three-day seminar,
organised by the Ministry of Education under the theme Strategies for
Assessing the Research Methodology for post-basic education concluded
yesterday. The seminar aimed at assessing students’ graduation projects. It
focused on the constant assessment strategies in this subject, the tools
that help the instructor to follow up the progress of the student and
preparing the record and annual reports on the performance of the student.

Pakistani Air Force chief of staff leaves |

Air Marshal Tanweer Mahmoud Ahmed, Chief of Staff of the
Pakistani Air Force, left here yesterday with his delegation winding up his
official visit to the Sultanate. He was seen off at Seeb Air Base by Air
Vice Marshal Yahya bin Rasheed al Jumaa, Commander of the Royal Air Force of
Oman, senior RAFO officers, the ambassador of Pakistan and the military

MUSCAT — Sayyid Badr bin Hamad
al Busaidy, Secretary-General of the Foreign Ministry, received yesterday a
copy of the credentials of Lazlo Vodor, Hungarian non-resident ambassador to
the Sultanate. Sayyid Badr welcomed the ambassador and wished him good luck
in his assignment and further progress in bilateral relations in all
domains. The meeting was attended by Salim bin Mohammed al Riyami, Head of
East Europe Department, and Nasser bin Khalfan al Kharousi, Head of
